The Wishful Mole

This little mole had been planted, as a seed in my head, for a few months and the fluttering cloud of butterflies ascending him from the dark, were never an option.

 

For many years now, family members have been telling me to write and illustrate a picture book, but naturally, I hate being told what to do. Who knew this little underground dweller would be the springboard to arriving at the beginning of this new chapter. So here we are, the story is written and ready for editing, and the illustrations are bubbling away ready to begin. Inspired by the likes of Beatrix Potter, Roald Dahl and Charlie Mackesy, these watercolour illustrations will hold delicacy, whimsical wit, and deep sensitivity for all readers.

 

This is a story of curiosity, wishful thinking, leaving the proverbial nest, and ultimately, a picture book of understanding the nature and need for belonging.
